My honest opinion on the Da Vinci Code: oversexed. :X:X:X Dudes, I'm so sorry, but I don't see how that book got as popular as it did. I mean, sure, it's good. But there are so many things missing, so many things unneeded, and OH GOD, his writing style is terrible. It's not a difficult read by most standards, because there are somethings that caught my eye and overall, I was hooked and enjoyed the book quite a bit. Especially in the middle.
But the thing about the middle. Not everything came together and made sense perfectly. There were things that I wished the author had elaborated more on, like Langdon's experience in Venice, and this girl who was mentioned in the first chapter, who was never mentioned again. It was like, okay? So, what happened to that? I'm so peeeeved when people use things that have no place whatsoever in a book at all. I hate the unexpected, uncharacteristic changes. I hate mysteries that you can predict the endings to, like, oh god. We know that blahdeeblah is going to happen, but we hope that at least it will be INTERESTING. The ending was just ugh, hurried.
I'd give it like, between a 6 and a 7 out of 10. >> Wuuugh.
And my pessimism is from a bad night. My ankles are in a worse shape, because I went for a more strenuous run, and my socks, woe are my socks. Also, I found out that I won't be paying for my cell phone next month, just because they're NOT LETTING ME KEEP IT. No, I have to BUY A NEW ONE. And because I'm having credit card issues, and am a busy person when it matters, I don't know when I'll have enough money to buy a new one.
I know this will all get figured out eventually, because I'll make sure of it. I've been able to make it through all my problems so far, and it's key to growing up and becoming my own person for the future. I mean, at least I'm having this kind of crisis once before I'm in college.
Good things: "TAMATEBAKO! PLEAAASE, STOP TALKING! IT IS IMPORTANT TO GIVE ME YOUR TAMATEBAKO!" -- classmates mocking the shite out of Tanya. Oh god, I laughed so hard I cried.
I'm seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Miki on Saturday! And maybe going for karaoke.

nullspace. <3 Anything you want from Japan, m'dear? (Within reason, plz. I don't think I could manage a j-rocker in a box, at least not by christmas, but check in with me before I leave.)

I also hate how Langdon hooks up with every single female he ever works with (you'll hear more on that if you read Angels & Demons). ROAR.
But this. omfg, he is supposed to be a WRITER, and I just CRY, CRY.
I do want to see the movie though, just so I can see Sillas. Bald, albino monks who bleed for a living totally turn my crank. XDDD
I just, um, don't like Langdon. I totally loved whatshisface, the Teacher. The part about him in Julius Caesar was the one moment that I really loved the book <3<3.
All right, anyway, onto more important things! ♥ I'm sorry to hear that your ankles were bad. It sounds like you have a lot of bad luck, but anyway, I'm sure that you will pull through in the end. Remember to breathe and enjoy yourself, you deserve it.
<3 Aw, aw, thank you so much! T-T today proved to be a better day, and while I'm still having a few problems, comments like this totally cheer me up 8D sankyuu!
Charlie and the chocolate factory is great. Hope it gives you a mood-boost. :)
8D I've seen it twice omgzorz. But it actually got canceled tomorrow, because my friends, like me, are uber poor.
